As long as I can remember, I’ve been a writer.
From writing and illustrating my first book when I was in kindergarten, to creating short stories in middle school that featured my best friends, I fell in love with the creative process at a young age.
I started a blog before the word “blog” existed in the mainstream.
In young adulthood, I began journaling about the purpose-based practices I followed in leadership and faith to make meaning of the world around me.
In college, my writing shifted to academic research, writing papers that integrated applied psychology, education, and communication studies.
Once in graduate school, I developed curriculum around Life Skills for Student Athletes, training the UCLA Football team on basic #Adulting principles.
My love for using writing as a teaching tool propelled me into designing multi-day leadership programs for college students when I worked at The University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign.
When I discovered my passion for coaching, I went to be trained and certified as a Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC). I began using my writing skills to build my first business through intentional branding, client communications, and organizational training.
Opening a coworking space with childcare in Sacramento and now serving as the Director of a character development center, I often spend a majority of my days surrounded by letters and words: From helping young students with early literacy to crafting emails to prospective families and current members.
Words are all around me.
In the last year, I’ve moved into more public speaking and wrote and shared my first TEDx talk that now has over one million views!! Putting my personal story into words was both vulnerable and powerful. And I was hooked!
After attending my first writer’s conference at Mount Hermon, the world of publishing opened up to me as a reality for the first time. I met some incredible teachers and mentors who have now become my dear friends.
I discovered a tribe of creatives that value the power of words as much as I do!
I also met my Literacy Agent, Cynthia Ruchti, who has helped shape my writing and character in powerful ways in the last year. Together, we crafted my first book proposal, and after multiple rounds of edits (that took months!), we sent it off to prospective publishers.
And we waited.
And waited.
And finally, one responded…
I’m thrilled to share that I am now in contract with HarperCollins Christian Publishing to publish my first book in 2026!
Writing a book starts long before publishing process.
It starts with the idea you have.
The passion you have behind it.
The desire to get the words out into the world.
Out of your head. Pen to paper.
And in to someone else’s hands to inspire change!
While I can’t share much more now about the book title, topic, or content. If you’ve been subscribing and reading here for awhile, you already know what I write about the most! So stay tuned for more updates along the way because YOU are part of this amazing journey!
I appreciate your support, encouragement, and prayers more than you know!
